Ladybird’s Journey Begins
In the quiet roads of Lewis County, Kentucky, a tiny puppy, only about 6 or 7 weeks old, found herself in such a predicament. She was discovered tied to a tree, waiting for someone to arrive. Thankfully, a passing driver noticed her and contacted a local shelter for help.
Kim Desroches of Friends of Lewis County Animals shared, “She was just patiently waiting by that tree, hoping someone would come.” This call set off events that would change the puppy’s life forever.
A New Home
The local shelter was full and couldn’t keep her, but this was a blessing in disguise. Puppies need more care than shelters can sometimes provide. That’s when Friends of Lewis County Animals stepped in and named her Ladybird. They quickly arranged for her to move to a foster home where she could get the love and attention she deserved.
Moving from being abandoned to a loving foster home lifted Ladybird’s spirits. “She was a bit shy at first, but soon she showed her true colors—a playful and joyful puppy,” said Desroches.
Finding Forever
The best news came when the rescue announced Ladybird had found a forever home! It’s a heartwarming reminder of the kindness of strangers and the difference it can make in an animal’s life.
Sadly, Ladybird’s story starts with abandonment, a situation far too familiar. The rescue encourages anyone struggling to care for their pets to seek help instead of leaving them. The place where Ladybird was found wasn’t even far from a shelter.
“Please, don’t leave animals alone like this. We’re here to help,” they urge.
